YouTube access is now available to all students. YouTube for schools allows the whole school to access educational video content on YouTube while restricting unsafe and inappropriate content to specific year levels.
These restrictions do not apply to staff and students from years 9 to 12, however you will need to sign in using your school email in order to gain access to the entire content. This applies to all devices including mobile phones.
There is a two step process to watching a YouTube video on campus.
The YouTube video has to be approved by a teacher. To approve a YouTube video the teacher needs to login into Google using their mConnect ID and then click the approve button that appears at the bottom of the YouTube video. See the following screen shot for details.
You need to use your school ID to sign into Google accounts. See the following screen shot for details. Access to your school Google account is located on the top right hand side of your Chrome browser. Please note: you have to use your school Google account to view YouTube videos when you are on campus, it will not work with your personal Google login. If you are logged in with your personal Google account you have to sign out and sign in with your school Google account.
