The Australian Council for International Development (ACFID) is the peak body for Australian non government organisations (NGOs) involved in international development and humanitarian action.

"Global competence is the capacity to examine local, global and intercultural issues, to understand and appreciate the perspectives and world views of others, to engage in open, appropriate and effective interactions with people from different cultures, and to act for collective well-being and sustainable development." (OECD, 2018)

NOTE: The OECD PISA global competence framework ties back directly to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals [SDG]. The SDGs are also supported by the Australian Government.
